何桢,天津大学管理与经济学部教授、博士生导师,学部副主任兼工业工程系主任。国家杰出青年基金获得者,国际质量科学院院士(IAQ Academician),国务院政府特殊津贴专家,国家百千万人才工程入选者,获有突出贡献的中青年专家,教育部新世纪优秀人才;国家级精品课“质量管理”负责人、国家级双语课“质量管理”负责人。于1988年获得天津大学工业管理工程学士学位,1991年获得天津大学管理工程硕士学位,2001年获得天津大学管理科学与工程博士学位。主要研究领域为质量管理与质量工程、精益六西格玛、运营管理。讲授课程包括工业工程学科导论(本科)质量管理(本科)、现代质量工程(研究生)、精益六西格玛(MBA)、运营管理(MBA)等。
何桢教授在国际期刊European Journal of Operational Research, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, Quality and Reliability Engineering International, Quality Engineering等国际期刊发表论文50余篇;在《管理科学学报》、《系统工程理论与实践》等中文核心期刊发表近百篇。并出版《六西格玛管理》、《运营管理》等多部著作和教材。作为负责人先后承担国家自然科学基金杰出青年基金、三项重点项目、四项面上项目。研究成果获省部级一等奖3次、二等奖3次,曾获天津青年科技奖和天津市五一劳动奖章等奖励。

何桢教授曾作为Fulbright学者在美国西伊利诺伊大学从事研究工作,在宾州州立大学做访问学者。担任国际期刊“Computers and Industrial Engineering”领域主编和多个期刊的编委,担任中国质量协会常务理事、教育与学术委员会副主任;全国精益六西格玛管理推进工作委员会专家委员会主任;管理科学与工程学会常务理事;天津市工业工程学会理事长等。

TANG Loon Ching is a Professor at the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) and the Director of Temasek Defence Systems Institute in National University of Singapore (NUS). LC Tang obtained his PhD in the field of operations research from Cornell University in 1992 under the NUS Overseas Scholarship. He has published widely in many leading international journals in the field of IEOM. He was presented the IIE Transactions 2010 Best Application Paper Award and the prestigious Ralph A. Evans/P.K. McElroy Awards for the best paper presented at 2011 Reliability and Maintainability Symposium. Both awards were the first time that they went to authors who are Singapore-based researchers while the latter is also the first time, in its 58-year history, went to authors affiliated to an Asian University. He has been named 2014 IEOM Outstanding Educator by the IEOM Forum. He is an elected Fellow of the International Society of Engineering Asset Management.

LC Tang is the editor of Quality and Reliability Engineering International and has been on the editorial review board of the Journal of Quality Technology, the flagship journal of American Society for Quality, since 2006, among others. He is the main author of the book: Six Sigma: Advanced Tools for Master Black Belts and Master Black Belts (which won the inaugural Masing Book Prize by International Academy of Quality); and a co-author of Markov-Modulated Processes and Semiregenerative phenomena. He is one of the founding members of Global Ports Research Alliance, IIE Asian Network and the steering committee of Logistics and Maritime Systems Conference Series; and has served as the General Chair of these conference series. Besides being active in the forefront of research in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, LC Tang has also been engaged as consultant/trainer by many government agencies and MNCs in their enterprise transformation initiatives. To-date, he has trained and mentored more than 60 Master Black Belts and provided training to more than 3000 analysts, engineers and managers, from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Israel, China, USA, Indonesia, India and the Philippines in the areas of Lean Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, Engineering Asset Management, Operations Research and Reliability Engineering.

Prof. Ching-Chow Yang

教授, Chung-Yuan Christian University

Ching-Chow Yang is a professor of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Chung-Yuan Christian University. He received the Ph.D. degree in Management Science from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan in 1990. Dr. Yang was honored the Individual Award winner of the Taiwan National Quality Awards in 1997 and Individual Award winner of the Asia-Pacific Business Excellence Standard Academy in 2006. Professor Yang had been the president of the Chinese Society for Quality from 2010 to 2012, the Board Member of the Asian Network for Quality (ANQ) from 2010 to 2015. Now he is the Fellow & Board Member of the Chinese Society for Quality, the vice-president of the Asia Quality Function Deployment Association, and the Editorial Advisory Board Member of the international journal of Total Quality Management & Business Excellence (SSCI). He have published more than 35 papers in SSCI or SCI international journals related to quality and business management, and more than 35 EI international journal. He also published twelve books (including Lean Production, Hoshin Management, Total Quality Management, Service Quality Management, Strategy Management, etc.) in Taiwan and China. Professor Yang has the experience of consultant and teaching for more than 100 companies and organizations more than 35 years, especially the senior consultant for many famous companies in Taiwan and China.
Speech Title: The development of a new process of DFSS and its applications
Speech Abstract: Six-Sigma program has been widely adopted by the industries around the world since the late-1990s, due to the GE’s successful implementation, though it was initiated by   Motorola in 1987. There are two kinds of implementation process used in Six-Sigma program, DMAIC and DMADV. Usually the industries commonly use DMAIC to improve the product quality, but rarely use DMADV as the process of product design. Several quality gurus such asJuran and Feigenbaum, and several researches had concluded that the poor quality in product design will cause the huge and chronic costs, which may not be eliminated by the Six-Sigma improvement. The focus of new product development is needed to transfer the quality improvement from the later phases of the design life cycle to the early phases.

It is needed to adopt the “design for Six-Sigma” (DFSS) methodology, in order to achieve the best performance in early stages, and to focus on the ‘prevention’ instead of the ‘problem solving’. In this research, we develop a new DFSS process, including Define, Identify, Measure, Design, Optimize, and Verify (DIMDOV), based on the in-depth study of DFSS and the author’s rich consultant’s experience. This developed new DFSS process has been applied in a high-tech. company in Taiwan with at least five cases. The new DFSS process can be confirmed to be a powerful methodology used to assure the design quality of the product design and manufacturing process design by the application results. The product quality with Six-Sigma level can be achieved by utilizing the developed DFSS methodology, but the application of DMAIC is not always to assure the Six-Sigma quality level.

宗福季,现任香港科技大学工业工程与物流管理系教授,前系主任,及质量实验室主任,国际质量科学院(IAQ)院士,美国统计学会(ASA)会士, 美国工业工程师学会(IIE)会士,美国质量学会(ASQ)会士,国际统计协会(ISI)当选会员,香港工程学会(HKIE)会士。 任职科大后,宗福季教授积极参与有关质量改善和管理的教育及研究工作,也为不同行业提供咨询及培训服务,包括制造、银行、电讯及医疗等行业。宗教授目前是美国质量学会旗舰期刊Journal of Quality Technology (JQT)的主编,工业工程学会期刊IISE Transactions及Technometrics的副编辑。宗教授于国立台湾大学取得机械工程学士学位,其后于美国密歇根大学获工业工程硕士及博士学位。

Prof. Fugee Tsung is Professor and former Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics (IEDA), Director of the Quality and Data Analytics Lab, at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST), and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Quality Technology (JQT). He is an Academician of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ), Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), Fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), and Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). He received both his MSc and PhD from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and his BSc from National Taiwan University. He has authored over 100 refereed journal publications and is also the winner of the Best Paper Award for the IIE Transactions in 2003, 2009, 2017. His research interests include industrial big data and quality analytics.

Speech Title: Quality Big Data
Abstract: This talk will present and discuss the challenges and opportunities that quality engineers and managers face in the era of big data. The ability to separate signal and noise in the data-rich-information-poor environment would be the key, especially for industrial big data. Emerging research issues include data fusing with heterogeneous data sources, statistical transfer learning, and statistical process control and monitoring for big data streams.
